joshua stone

i'm loving these industrial felt coasters by joshua stone.

industrial felt.

it just sounds cool.

check out some other industrial felt i previously blogged about here.

pocket bunnies

i'm not sure why, maybe because i am so craving spring, but i made some little easter bunnies last night. they live in a cute little felt grass pocket and have little tails on their bums.

get them here.

new pillow in shop

i really wanted to post this on saturday when i made it, but i could not, for the life of me, find the cord that hooks my camera up to my computer.

it was in my purse, where i thought i had looked. apparently not very well.

so here it is, the newest addition to my pillow collection. available in my shop!

etcetera media

sorry for the weekend hiatus. i went up to omaha to hang out with the family, and didn't feel much like posting. please forgive me!

back to business. i think we all know that i have a slight felt obsession. the felt i work with borders on craft felt, and i think it would be super fun to play with industrial felt, like the folks over at etcetera media do. they make some really cool stuff. check it out!

another pillow

i like making pillows! i dreamed up this owl cushion today. i think i'll make a whale next...

1.01.2008

another bird

yes, i have made yet another birdie object. this time it's a pillow!

i had been thinking of making some pillows for a couple of days now, and it's not quite how i'd imagined, but i rather like it. do you?

new laptop cozy

both of my sisters got laptop cozies from me for christmas because they both have new laptops. i'm sure they were so surprised when they opened their gifts!

i designed this one for my youngest sister, who is obsessed with chocolate brown and blue. apparently i am obsessed with little birdies, as i seem to put them on everything now. oh well. they are so cute!

brooch, part 2

here's the brooch i forgot yesterday! it, too is up in my shop.

i hope your holiday preparations are going well. i have not made one single gift yet. am i in trouble?

12.13.2007

a brooch

does anyone else think brooch is a funny word?

i have become rather obsessed with making them, regardless of their funny spelling. i made a couple last night, but i forgot to bring the other to work to photograph, so this one will have to tide you over until tomorrow.

p.s. - the post office says i can ship domestically until the 18th, and it will still make it to you by christmas. so get your shop on! orders placed on monday the 17th will go out the 18th, so the 17th is your last day to order! thanks!

12.10.2007

new cozy!

so i didn't get to bed until 2 am last night (or i guess that would technically be this morning). i had a vision for a new laptop cozy, so i just had to get it finished.

i think i like it! what do you think?

shop update

the holidays are getting ever closer! i'm about to have a crafting panic attack, as i have not started to make any gifts, and i have to go out of town next week for my real job.

since i will be out of town, that means i will be unable to mail orders from tuesday the 11th through sunday the 17th. so get you orders in this weekend if you want them to arrive by christmas! i hope to do a lot of mailing this monday!

i've added a couple of things to the shop. my favorite is a scarf i spent a couple of days (lazily) working on. i rather like how it turned out. the front is hand stitched with a blanket stitch. two of the little dots (one on either end) are lightly stuffed for some extra depth.

i also finally got around to making a christmas ornament. it's a sweet little felt bird. maybe i will make more on sunday...

and finally, i made three new iPod cozies, as well as a revisited design. check them out!

11.30.2007

kup kup

go take a look at the fanciful textile artwork by kup kup. she creates "small artworks made with care."

so adorable! i really can't stop looking at it, and had a really hard deciding which pictures to post. i love it all!

return of the key fob

i knew i wasn't going to be able to resist making these. for your purchasing (or window shopping) pleasure, i give you, the key fob:

11.26.2007

let it snow

here's another stocking for what is quickly becoming a collection. they are so fun to make!

you could have all three! wouldn't they look nice on your mantle?

11.15.2007

feeding the beast

there are just a couple of new things up in my shop today. the first one is reserved for a customer, but if you like it i'll make you another.

11.14.2007

busy girl

i posted lots of new things to my shop today!

are you ready for the holidays? i don't think i am. i have not made any gifts yet, and as i pledged to give handmade gifts this year, if i don't get on the ball, i may be buying handmade as well as making handmade...

no time for that now! i'm off to fill two more laptop cozy orders, as well as a special project for a special shop. but more on that later. oh, how i keep you in suspense!

11.09.2007

yet another new project

i told you had the craft ADHD. now you'll have to believe me. after making a laptop bag and an iPod case to fill a couple of orders, i designed another laptop bag. you like?

i had those felt balls lying around for ages. i had to use them. i think they're cute!

after all those projects, i thought it would be fun to try something new. something totally new.

ahh!! a pattern!! i'm gonna say it: patterns suck. i totally lack the patience and discipline for such a thing, but i decided to give it a try. and, for the most part, it worked! i had a few issues with the sleeves, but i more or less figured it out. maybe it was because, after i cut the fabric from the pattern, i didn't bother to look at the pattern again, nor to imprint on the fabric the fold and seam lines. oh well.

this lovely, soft jersey wrap sweater will fit an 18 month-old. if i want to make a larger size, i will have to buy a new pattern, as i sort of destroyed this one. oops!

11.07.2007

birth of the key fob

i have a created a key fob. i'm thinking of giving one away with each order. i'd change them up, perhaps to match what was bought. would you want to receive a free key fob with your order? or would you like to buy one outright?

i fear these might become an addiction...

10.24.2007

(order) fulfillment

it's 9:40 and i am just about ready for bed. sad, right?

i have an excuse! i was up until two this morning finishing the order pixi chix placed with me two weeks ago. phew! glad that's done.

i had quite the stack of onesies going. i discovered that i enjoy making things more when i can do them at my leisure, in small quantities. but i REALLY enjoy making things when i'm getting paid.

pardon my late night point and shoot.

reForm school

i've heard lots about these ladies and their store, reForm school. I totally intended to stop by the last time i was in l.a., but alas, i did not (nor did i make it to the gourmet cupcake shop, which was priority number one - so sad!).

but all is not lost, as they have launched an online store! they have some great stuff in there, lots of unique, one-of-a-kind, buy-it-now-or-it-will-be-gone-forever type of items.

they recently overhauled their website, which i also love. it has a fabulous high school feel to it. which i'm sure was their intention. (reForm school. duh).

anyway, i'm especially loving this DIY felt birdie pouch. if you are not the crafty type but long to be, this might be just the thing for you! it even includes a plastic needle. safety first!
