DIY for the holidays

holy crap, it's almost november. and then it will be december.  and that means christmas and lots of gift giving.

mr. m  and i are a little cash strapped this year (and every year of my life so far. this is nothing new), so our loved ones will be receiving homemade gifts (also nothing new).

if you're in the same boat, which, thanks to the quality of our economy at the moment, i assume most of you are, i've assembled a little collection of sites that have lots of great projects for the crafty.

and if you're not so crafty, and happen to have put aside some cash for holiday spending, remember to buy handmade!

threadbanger is for the sewing, project runway loving, wannabe fashion designer.

craftster is an online crafting community.  lots of ideas here!

instructables offers just what the name implies.

cut out and keep offers step-by-step instructions.

for the green crafters, there's recycled crafts.  save the planet while being crafty!

la bete handmade

la bete handmade makes the most adorable little embroidered pillows. i've started doing a little embroidery myself lately, but i don't think i'd have the patience to do these. thank goodness she does!

outdoor market

as the weather has gotten (relatively) cooler, i have really been missing having my booth at the lincoln farmers market. it really was a lot of fun.

so i am really excited that this saturday i get to participate in an outdoor market. it's actually sponsored by domestic bliss, the shop where i work. they're closing off robson street and filling it with lots of lovely vendors. it should be super fun.

here's the address:
166 w main
mesa, az 85201

and a map.

it's also a fundraiser for the yoga instructor at our studio, who was in a plane crash with her husband a couple of months ago. you can read all about it here.

so if you're in the phoenix area, stop by and say hello! and hey, it's for a good cause!

prices slashed!

due to the recent developments in the economy, i've decided to lower prices on nearly everything in my etsy store. happy shopping!
